Capabilities
Searching your library
Search finds moments in your indexed videos from a description. Results point to a time range in the original file and explain which evidence produced the match.
Write the moment you remember
Describe what was shown or said. Specific details about setting, action, color or wording help. Search runs when you submit, not on every keystroke.
- “wide shots of waves at sunset”
- “person opening a cardboard box”
- “the interview quote about delivery delays”
- “slides showing the pricing table”
What can be matched depends on the evidence available for each video. Search does not identify people by face or name.
Set the scope
Scope chips show whether you are searching all linked folders, chosen folders or selected videos. Filters for folder, duration, index status and source availability stay visible with the results and can be cleared one at a time.
Read a result
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| File and folder | The source file and where it lives, including the drive |
| In and out times | The exact range in the original recording |
| Evidence type | Spoken words, visible text or visual evidence |
| Excerpt | Relevant transcript or text, when available |
Results default to moments. You can group them by video. CutroomOS does not show a percentage “match score”, because it would imply a calibration that does not exist.
Selecting a result opens the player at that range with surrounding context. From there you can play the moment, continue the source, reveal the original, copy the path and times, or copy an app link. App links are references; they do not upload or share footage.
Partial coverage and no matches
If some videos in scope are not indexed, excluded or on a disconnected drive, the results say so and offer to index unindexed items.
