Permitted derivatives are sent to our cloud processing to produce visual observations and recognized speech. This is the point where information about a video leaves your Mac.

Source availability and index state are separate. An indexed video can sit on a disconnected drive; a visible file may not be indexed yet. CutroomOS shows both rather than one green badge.

“Indexed” does not mean every capability exists for every frame. A recording’s detail view shows which speech and visual coverage is available.
